Decolonising Effect of Digital Transformation in Online Educational Methodology
Online education from its inception was implemented in the knowledge society as a paradigm shift in teaching–learning processes, facilitating Digital Transformation processes in education and, especially, in Higher Education. However, its implications have gone further, and it is evident how the flexibility and autonomy appropriated have allowed it to become a tool that contributes to the decolonisation processes in the territories. This article aims to demonstrate the decolonising effect of the online methodology in Higher Education in the territories through the report of two practical cases of students of the Information Science Academic Program, in addition to spatially visualising of the location of 6626 students of the program. In conclusion, applying the integration of Digital Transformation processes, such as an online methodology, allows universities to be part of the decolonisation process in the profound territory.
